There once were two ravens, Thought and Memory.  They were known as Hugin and Munin in Norse mythology.  They served their master, the god Odin.  Each morning he dispatched them to fly the 7 worlds and report back to him.   Then they would come back, perch on his shoulder, and whispered in his ear all that they had seen that morning.  Odi was the god of war, so all of this information was important to him.
